How long does an Alexapure Pro filter last, and when should I replace it?
Each Alexapure Pro filter is rated for up to 200 gallons of filtration, depending on the quality of the water you're filtering. You don't have to keep track of every gallon—when you notice a significant decrease in flow rate, that's a good indication it's time for a replacement.
The Alexapure Pro can hold up to four filters at once—and every filter you add gives you two benefits: faster flow and more filtration capacity.
Two filters provide approximately twice the flow rate and up to 400 gallons of combined filtration capacity. Install four, and you can get approximately four times the flow rate and up to 800 gallons of combined capacity before replacement.
That means less time waiting for filtered water and longer between filter changes, giving you more filtration capacity already in place when clean water matters most.
Are new filters compatible with my original Alexapure Pro system?
Yes. The new Alexapure Pro filters are fully compatible with original Alexapure Pro systems. Each new filter includes a simple quick-connect adapter so you can use the newest filter without having to replace the system you already own.
What's different about the new Alexapure Pro filter?
The new Alexapure Pro filter was reengineered from the inside out. It delivers 2X faster flow, features an expanded testing program built around both everyday and emergency water concerns, and is now made in-house in the USA for greater control over quality and consistency.
It's also fully compatible with both new and original Alexapure Pro systems.
Does the new filter need to be primed or flushed before use?
No. The new Alexapure Pro filter arrives ready to use with no priming or flushing required. Simply install the filter according to the instructions, fill the upper chamber and let gravity do the rest.
Do unused Alexapure Pro filters expire?
Not when properly stored. Unused filters can be stored indefinitely in their original sealed mylar packaging. Keep them in a cool, dry place away from sunlight, humidity and chemicals such as cleaning supplies, paints or gasoline.
Since the filters no longer need to be pre-primed, you don't have to worry about freezing and cracking during storage. So your backups are always ready when you need them most.
Does Alexapure Pro remove beneficial minerals from water?
No. Unlike Reverse Osmosis, distillation, or deionization systems, Alexapure Pro is designed to target unwanted contaminants without stripping your water of its naturally occurring dissolved minerals. In-house testing showed that overall dissolved mineral levels remained consistent before and after filtration.
How do I clean and maintain the Alexapure Pro?
Alexapure Pro is designed for simple upkeep. Clean the stainless steel chambers periodically with fresh water, mild soap and a soft cloth. If you notice buildup on the filter or a decrease in flow, remove the filter and gently clean the exterior under running water—never use soap or detergent on the filter.
After cleaning, reassemble the system and make sure all connections are secure before refilling. With routine care, your Alexapure Pro is ready to keep filtering whenever you need it.
